Teen Wolf was among the most popular shows when it was still airing, and considering how much traction the movie reboot has gotten, fans are not over the show yet. They have expressed many expectations for the movie, which is coming out soon, presumably sometimes this year, as filming has recently wrapped!
Of course, the show has many dropped storylines, and fans are left wondering if some of them might get picked up again in the movie. They might not have the time to tackle all of them, due to time limitations, but one or two could get further resolved, and fans cannot wait to find out which.
Cora Hale
Cora Hale was first introduced as Derek’s sister, but the audience quickly caught on to the fact that she was supposed to be Stiles’ love interest on the show. Even though it was likely to be temporary, due to Stiles being in love with Lydia, fans couldn’t help but want more of Cora, and consequently more of Cora with Stiles.
Reddit user Krazy_Komodo said: “Coras existence and I’m gonna go out on a limb here and say her relationship with Stiles.” But not only was she written off the show, she was very rarely if ever mentioned again. It was a shame, because she had great potential as a character, and many fans actually wondered if she’d be a better fit for Stiles than Malia was.
Malia Being Peter’s Daughter
“Malia being Peter’s daughter bro! Like, yeah, they gave us the whole” dad “thing in season 6 but not really anything more than that,” was the complaint of Redditor ThatGirlMelodies. Since this was one of the best plot twists on the show, many people would have liked to see more follow-up.
The moments from season 6 that they did share with fans were amazing and the only question is, how good might it have been if they didn’t decide to sideline it. After all, Peter was one of the most complex, villain-turned-hero characters, and his journey to caring for more than just himself was interesting to watch.
Hellhounds
Hellhounds as mythical supernatural creatures sparked the interest of Reddit user Oceanwoulf: “Hellhounds how do they choose, how many are there? Are there any females? How or why are they attached to the wild hunt.” The show often introduced new species of creatures, only to drop them without explaining further.
Introducing new characters and new species added dimension to the later seasons, and many saw Parrish as one of the best new characters. Some fans even went as far as saying he was a better love interest for Lydia than Stiles. So learning more about how he became a hellhound and how he functions would be interesting for a large number of fans, not to mention a hellhound is one of the most powerful supernatural beings.
Jackson Being Derek’s Mirror
Reddit user Marrecarandgi brings out a great point about Derek and Jackson’s relationship: “When talking to Jackson Derek is actually talking to his younger self, and his tumultuous relationship with Jackson is very representative of how he feels about himself. On one hand, Derek despises Jackson and is ready to kill him. On the other, he is drawn to him since s1 and even accidentally shares his memories with Jackson. “
The user also believes that if Jackson had stayed on the show, this would’ve continued and their relationship would evolve into a friendship. There are sadly many relationships the show never did explore further, but this one is likely attributed to Haynes leaving the show due to failed contract negotiations. Otherwise, who knows what the writers had in plan for him. After starting the show as one of the most unlikable characters, he could have turned into a hero.
Derek’s Backstory
Certain characters got explored in detail on the show, but sadly, they only scratched the surface of Derek Hale. Reddit user evieeeeeeeeeeeeee says: “Derek’s backstory! We just got Peter’s perspective, and Derek has the most interesting and twisted past out of everyone on the show – it’d had been nice to see him share that with someone, I thought it was jarring how he went from emotionally damaged repressed teenager to a mature adult without any kind of segue. “
It was also very rare to see Derek lean on someone or someone having his back. This is partly because of how power-hungry he acted, and he later learns to appreciate the value of true friendships. It’s also interesting that Derek admires Scott, despite being older and physically stronger. Scott’s compassion and his strong set of values are something he respects greatly.
Danny Knowing About The Supernatural
This was a lost opportunity indeed. When it was revealed that Danny was aware of the supernatural occurrences in Beacon Hills, even though everyone thought he was clueless, it was one of the biggest plot twists on the show. So the fact that the writers didn’t find a way to integrate Danny into more storylines after that was surprising.

Could have been perfect both as an element of the benefactor hit list plot or as part of the” riders erased people from our memories “plot and still they didn’t bring him back even though Keahu was still working on costumes and props for the design team. “
Scott And Isaac’s Alpha / Beta Relationship
Liam might have been Scott’s first bitten beta, but Isaac was his first beta ever. He joined Scott’s pack, while Scott was still a beta, and it was his best decision he ever made. This proves just what kind of connection these two shared. And Isaac was fiercely loyal to Scott. If his character had stayed, it could have served as a very interesting plotline between these two characters. Redditor Extremist-YT made some great points in their analysis.
“We watch Scott become a leader to Isaac long before Scott’s eye turn red. Isaac was calm when he thought Derek was dead, Boyd was furious and planning to attack Ethan. Scott passes out and is in such a bad state they fear for his life and ISAAC snaps. Scott screams at Isaac and it stops him in his tracks, breaking through his anger. The dynamic between them was clearly strong, maybe even as strong as Gerard refers to Liam / Scott’s relationship. “
Stiles And Lydia’s Relationship
“Lydia and Stiles being a couple. I feel like we lost out on everything by not getting a single scene of them fighting between saving each other from supernatural creatures,” was the complaint voiced by Redditor Electronic-State-715.
And this is an opinion the majority of the fandom shares. Slowburn romances are amazing to watch because of their build-up, but the risk is that the show gets canceled before fans get to experience the relationship. This is what happened to Teen Wolf with Stydia, as fans call them. They ran out of time to explore the relationship, and as O’Brien wasn’t filming for the second half of the final season, it remained with a single kiss and a few affectionate glances.
Scott And Derek’s Evolutions
Reddit user AlastairCellars was upset the show never followed up on it, following the initial transformation. “Honestly Scott and Derek’s evolutions in season 4. Scott getting his werewolf full transformation which he never uses after that one bit and Derek’s direwolf shift that once again never did again it kinda made season 4 seem kinda pointless.”
Scott’s transformation to true alpha was one of the most epic scenes on the show, the same goes for Derek morphing into an actual wolf form. This is why it was disappointing for fans to find that these instances were the only time the audience would experience their true powers. It was a wasted storyline in many people’s opinions. Considering Teen Wolf was ranked 1st on the list of best supernatural teen dramas, it’s worth questioning why they didn’t do more with the supernatural aspects.
